Paul Rucker Quartet
Seattle’s one-of-a-kind deep-string artist, Paul Rucker, opened the show Sunday night at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center with his new ensemble the Paul Rucker Quartet. Paul played both the bass and the cello and Thomas Mariott fronted on the trumpet. Playing work from his two critically-acclaimed albums along with some new music and work form an unreleased album, the group threw a spell over the house and brought them along on their enchanting vibe.
